Two of the biggest donors to the Brexit campaign say they now believe the project they championed will eventually be abandoned by the government and the UK will stay in the EU.

Peter Hargreaves, the billionaire who was the second biggest donor to the 2016 leave campaign, and veteran hedge fund manager Crispin Odey told Reuters they expect Britain to stay in the EU.

As a result, Odey, who runs hedge fund Odey Asset Management, said he is now positioning for the pound to strengthen after his flagship fund previously reaped the benefit of betting against UK assets amid wider market fears about the impact of Brexit.

Given the background of these people it is just as likely that they are just saying things that they will manipulate for personal financial gain, just like they have with promoting Brexit in the first place.

Hargreaves Lansdown have been doing their best to distance themselves from Peter Hargreaves for a long time.  As a Remainian however, I am more offended by their 0.45% ad valorem charge on fund holdings than any stance on the UK's future relationship with the EU.

It's been obvious ever since the referendum that most of our politicians, together with almost all of the EU and of course remain voters, will do everything they possibly can to prevent us leaving.
If we actually manage to do so it will be a miracle Smiley Frustrated

If we fail to leave, the blame is squarely on the shoulders of Mrs May for negotiating a deal that nobody is prepared to accept.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.

You expected people who campaigned for Remain to do a decent job of negotiating Leave?

All the Brexit secretaries were leave supporters, who failed to do bugger all.

Can you imagine the frothing of the rabid right if it is?

They're already screaming about conspiracy's and treason.   Slightly postpone brexit because we've done nothing to get ready and they'll explode.  It'd be hilarious.
