Do Orange still have this problem with data connections? I seem to remember them issuing a release that they didn't have adate on when this would be fixed

I've bought a vectone card and tried it with my android mobile phone. cannot get it to work: the provisioning sms messages are PIN protected (android doesn't support that and tells me about it) and when I enter the APN "internet" there is no GPRS connection established... nothing... I've rebooted and tried everything.

My phone works usually with internet and I have half a dozen different sim cards from various countries european countries.

Will Vectone migrate to 'everything everywhere'?

If not, I've not had good experiences with Tmobile coverage.

The national rates look good though http://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/tariffs/national_rates.aspx

The unlimited £5 for 1GB data offer ends this month, this is why I love giffgaff, clear pricing, and you know when things are going to stay/end, as it's clearly labelled, no need to trawl through T&C's!

Been around about a year I think. Certainly one that Giffgaff should keep an eye on

Good PAYG deals at the moment would certainly include this one and GiffGaff. Also look atTalk Mobile (Carphone Warehouse) and Asda Mobile.

Also if you are interested (and able) in paying by direct debit, check out the Sim only deals from Tesco, Vodafone, Three and T-mobile (and compare with GiffGaff goodybags before choosing)

Don't waste too much time on the PAYG deals from the big networks (3, O2, Voda, Orange,Tmob and VIrgin). None of those deals are very good IMHO.
