I didn't think this possible but are you able to use a Giffgaff SIM in a O2 phone. I was told that it's possible??

Yes, definitely possible. Because giffgaff is only a virtual (mvno) network that piggyback on o2's network, all o2 phones will accept a giffgaff sim and will work!

100% Yes.

Place a blank giffgaff SIM in the O2 phone and you will  see signal bars.

At that point just activate the SIM with a goodybag or top up to start your service.
