I usally don't use mobile data while at home since my phone always connected to Wi-Fi.   When I travel to office usually mobile data I use and mobile set to driving mode hence don't use much data.  After coming to office I used Wi-Fi again.

Strange morning : When recevied text message I used 80% of data (2.4GB) remaing 600MB left and 9:32 I recieved text saying I have data in goodybag has runout.  I didn't use phone/ not opened any apps and some apps may running back ground but same apps in phone same settings never used that much data in short time.  Strange when I contacted giff gaff agent they sent me all data I used by dates and gave some suggestions.  What I want to know which app in background consumed that data? Is it way to find out?  Or How to root cause the issue so that I try to avoid the data being used aggresivley.

Is it iOS I have updated few days ago or Network or apps ?  I done quick google search some people from O2 and Vodafone had similar issues but issue not resovled.

Any help much appreaciated.  Thanks in advance.

Hi @humanityrultz it does look like it might have been an iOS update. You should check your phone's data logs to see if that sheds more light or alternatively install a data counter app, eg Mr Number, so you can keep an eye on what is using your data.

Also check you have disabled WiFi Assist in your iPhone's settings as, if enabled, your mobile internet connection will be used to supplment your WiFi connections.

hi @humanityrultz

Sounds like a lot!

I would simply go to Settings -> Mobile data
Or install a separate data monitoring app

Any particular apps appear at the top? Or is it an update?

Once you work out the offending apps, try to configure them so they update less, or over WiFi only. Or even uninstall them if you don't actually need them.

Also worth keeping your mobile data turned off in the meantime until you resolve it, and only turn it on as and when you need it.
