Hi all
I purchased a sim free 4g handset a sumsung galaxy ace 3.
The guy at the shop trimmed my gg sim down and set my phone up.
I was told by o2 shop yesterday there there customers no longer have to get a 4g sim to operate 4g services,apparently now it just automatly to 4g.As a gg customer will my trimmed down smaller three g sim which is now in my 4g phone operate at 4g speeds when im in a 4g area or do i have to get a special 4g sim from gg?
Im asking cos i havent had chance to check it out yet.

Order a new SIM from your
Spread Giffgaff page

and when it arrives do a SIM swap

 To swap over the account to the new sim

Note for security the current SIM will be immediately disabled and replacement sim is barred on delivery for security purposes. You will need to contact an agent to get the bar lifted.

All members who are 4G ready got the invite to the trial (or should have), and everyone who opted in to the trial can buy the goodybags. We're also still open to anyone with a 4G ready phone to join the trial -contact an Educator and we'll try and get that sorted.

Since this is the first time that you are purchasing a 4G service from giffgaff, we will start to apply the 4G service to your account as soon as your 4G goodybag is activated. This should all happen very quickly, although on very rare occasions it can take up to 24 hours. As part of this process, it’s also possible that your data connection will temporarily cut out on your phone, but if this happens then don’t worry, simply switch your phone off and on again and you’ll be ready to go with your 4G service. In addition, it’s worth just being aware that some phones allow you to switch your 4G service off, so it’s worth just checking your settings to ensure that you have 4G services switched on.

The only prerequisites for joining the 4G trial are that you were a member before the launch of the trial and that you have a 4G SIM and a 4G phone. The area that you live in or had your phone or SIM delivered to is not a prerequisite.

If a member has been told that they cannot join the trial because of their post code then let an educator know and we'll chase it up for them.

Check the serial number on your SIM, if it ends in gg4G then you're good to go otherwise you will need to SIM swap to a newer 4G SIM http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084

On top of that you need to buy the 4G goodybag but in order to be able to do this you need to ask an educator to enroll you onto the 4G trial.

and chose one who has been online most recently

Once you've done all that and your 4G goodybag is live and you're in a 4G area you should be able to use 4G

So i need to buy a four g goody bag on top of twenty quid a month i already spend???
