I would expect 4G to be better.
Use this signal checker to see if there is a difference in signal strength between 3g and 4g:

Hope that helps.

Hi there
First thing you need to do is setup your phone in to 4G mode if there is a proper signal available in your area then you would be able to use 4G If not then you will be diverted to 3g or 2g (it depends on what area you are in and depend on signal strength)

NOTE : make sure your phone is 4G capable phone , to check your phone go to link below

Also if you wish to check 4G signal in your area please go to following link.and then "check my coverage "

Hope it helps
Please don't forget to select this as your best answer if it's help Smiley Happy

If your in a big city it should be better, otherwise maybe...... Check the network coverage maps to see if you are in a big blue area on 4G

the thing with the phone signal is its dependant on where you are and how saturated the network is, at work i can get 20mb download seed in the morning and 4mb in the afternoon, its variable.

when its good its good, its good and when its not its not.

Best thing is to check the o2 signal checker and see what it says it may be  - O2 service in your area - use this link

Hi, giffgaff 4G is far better than giffgaff 3G at the moment (pls don't expect the speeds you get to hear from EE), but still it's worth over 3G prices for the extra speed you get in giffgaff.
