i was told off giffgaff that i would get 4g when i bought a goodybag i have and iv still got 3g iv put my phone onto 4g in settings but my phone still only 3g

Hi there @daveytoonmarshall
What device are you using please ? .
When you buy a 4G goodybag for the very first time , it may take up to 24 hrs to activate your 4G service,but you'll still receive 3G until your 4G service has activated.
Also go to your device " settings " and Select " More networks " , then select " mobile networks " and then select " network mode " and select LTE / WCDMA /GCSM settings to Automatic.
Please can you then turn your phone OFF and ON again,over the next few hours or so and see if that helps.
Please also check you're in a 4G area here https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service
Make sure your device is 4G ready. Only phones with band 20 or a 800MHz 4G antenna can get 4G on giffgaff.
If it's been over 24 hours since you bought your 4G goodybag and you've tried all of these things ,then contact an agent here https://giffgaff.com/support/ask/mobile_internet_issues

Please remember that a response may take up to 24 hrs during busy periods, but should is usually much sooner in most cases.

All giffgaff's sim cards are 4G ready.
Can you please try turning your device OFF and ON again ,and just like a sim card activation,it may take up to 24hrs for your 4G goodybag to activate.

If you have an older phone (e.g. iPhone 4s), your phone might not be able to get 4G.

Also, make sure that internet settings are properly put Smiley Happy
