Hi @mohkimo it's available on the London Underground and approx 8,000 other hotspots spread out in the UK.   There's more information here https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/WiFi-with-giffgaff/ta-p/19688961 but that doesn't show the locations.   I'm fairly sure that the it's all of the O2 hotspots that can be accessed so this link should be of help. https://www.o2wifi.co.uk/

I think you'll find, @samadkhan99, that, as per the title of the post, @mohkimo was asking about the new "Wi-fi extra" feature that has just been introduced.

See @bertiebat’s post for the link to the page with all the details.

Thank everybody you think deserves it by awarding Kudos. And give Best Answer to the post that has helped you the most

Indeed it is @mohkimo where available.

However only if you have the latest giffgaff App installed and click on wifi extra from the App menu.

It is only a test service running on Beta. Feedback shows that not everyone gets a perfect service during this testing period.

Locations are identical to the O2 mywifi App map.

Edited to include Announcement link.

Just noticed this also, normally have wifi switched off when I am travvelling but the curious thing is that although the wi-fi extra appears as a protected network my phone just connects to this and I dont have any giffgaff apps intstalled.

@noriga It always connected to tfl information on the virgin platform.

The question is can you use for example WhatsApp? If you can, do you have the 02 app?  This route was the original way in which giffgaff members connected.

@noriga That's weird.  Can't solve that as it is only meant to work with the giffgaff app.

I have seen posters on the Underground recently which say that anyone can sign up and use the Wi-Fi service now, so possibly it's open to all without registration now. [Okay, definitely not free to all. According to the page TfL Station WiFi anyone not on a participating network will actually have to purchase a Virgin Media WiFi Pass in order to use the Underground Station hotspots.]

One thing I haven't worked out is whether the "my giffgaff" app should connect to standard "O2 WiFi" access points, or only those named "O2 WiFi Extra".
