In Spain for 2 weeks so using over £50 a day data. When trying to top up over £20 it is declined. I would like to put £100+ on Giffgaff so I don't need to top up 3 times a day...

It's best to use a local network in Spain ,its cheaper ,you can get a sim card from the shop in Spain ,data roaming is expensive

Why pay for such ridiculous prices for data grab a Spanish prepay sim out there. Its likely your bank is declining payments given the amounts your topping up

Hi @charlespobjoy1 as a work around you can buy a top up voucher code from anywhere in the world here as long as you have access to your email to receive the code, then visit giffgaff website to top up with the voucher code.

Only slight downside is that there is a small premium on top of the top up value of the voucher. One advantage though is that you can also pay by paypal as well as by card.

Please don't forget to come back after your problem has been resolved and select a best answer.

You really should get a sim from Spain (the rate your paying as much as you could just buy a smartphone from Spain + pre pay sim)

Please mark the correct answer so users can find them later on

Many thanks for all the great comments, I know I should buy a local sim but too lazy and re the cost I am glad to be giving my money to Giffgaff who so far are the best network I have been with regarding help, community. I know my money will go I good use and Giffgaff have to make money somewhere or it's over for us all. If they do it roaming then I don't have a problem with that. Keep up the good work and big thanks to the community....
