When attempting to play a video on Youtube I get a message stating, 'An error has occurred attempting to play media'. The video does not play.
Before this, I get a message advising I may incur charges for viewing the video, then I click OK, then press play. When I view the video via WiFi, the video plays fine. I have tried different videos on YouTube, and I get the same message.
As this works with the assistance of WiFi, could it be associated with the strength of the 3G network?
My phone is a Blackberry 9320 and I am using the £10 giffgaff package, with additional £3 bb internet service
Many people find they have issues with YouTube apps, because they're often written to be as generic as possible (ie not for any specific phone), and as a result, it's often easier to get a stable playback by opening a browser and going to http://m.youtube.com
If that doesn't help, try checking your handset's internet settings to see if it has any Proxy options configured. The address is:
Server: 184.108.40.206 Port: 8080 (this might be written as 220.127.116.11:8080)
Removing these details is a common fix for video streaming issues.
Hiya! There seems to be HUGE problems just now... I've been speaking to Netflix' they tell me there are problems with 3G on O2 but using wifi should be ok... There are web supported apps on the iPhone experiencing problems with 3G also... Can Giffgaff guys try to find out what's going on? I feel as tho I'm only getting half the service I'm paying for just now.
