@tj17 you CAN still use the internet, it's just a little harder.

You won't be able to use any of the blackberry applications, for example BBM, the default browser or any apps that require the internet service for example the official facebook, twitter and windows live messenger apps.

To set up the internet, from the main menu hit settings > advanced settings > TCP/IP. Then tick both boxes then type this in:
APN: giffgaff.com
user name: giffgaff
password: password

Some good apps I found that don't use the BIS are: 'Nimbuzz' (msn, skype, facebook chat etc), 'pingchat' (universal smartphone messenger, similar to BBM) and Opera Mini 5 (great mobile browser) Also, may i recommend a browser called 'BOLT' it displays websites exactly as they would be on a computer, no flash though

A Blackberry will work on giffgaff but only for voice calls and texts

Blackberry Browser, Mail, Messenger and MMS will not work via giffgaff, as giffgaff do not currently offer the Blackberry Internet Service books they require.

However there are workarounds and alternative applications such as Opera Mini, or Gmail to replace many of these functions.

A useful starting point is the giffgaffers guide to Blackberry

Although please be aware that some features may not work with giffgaff on Blackberries unfortunately. For more info on this specifically, see here:

These don't work on blackberry because of RIM's BlackBerry Internet Service, it doesn't use standard internet settings like most phones

Giffgaff do support internet on Blackberrys, you just can't use any applications that require you to have a blackberry dataplan, this is changing though and giffgaff members will soon be able to use blackberry data services apparently.
