So, I bought a new phone from giffgaff and recieved a new sim. But as I am already a giffgaff customer, I already have a sim. Is it possible to transfer my current giffgaff number to my new sim, which is also giffgaff?

Hi @am7869

Yes, simply perform a simple SIM swap. Please check out this http://bit.ly/kbggswap fantastic guide on how to perform the SIM swap or you can follow this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1QoXIl6xEM video tutorial.

The SIM swap process will transfer your current number and any active goodybag/gigabag/airtime credit. The SIM swap should take no more than 30 minutes but, during busy times can take up to 24 hours to complete.

The SIM swap can be performed any time between 4.30am and 9.30pm.

Just put your original sim into your new phone.

do a sim swap if your own sim doesn`t fit http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084

goodybag and credit carry across with your number it would normally take around 30 minutes

am7  hi Smiley Happy

Sim Swap:  Swapping your sim,

1 Back up contacts to your phone (if need be)
2 For sim swap, log into here https://giffgaff.com/activate
3 Put the 6 digit code in from your new sim, And click continue,
4 On the next page it will show the 6 digit activation codes and sim serial numbers of your current and new sim cards.
5 Click where it says... "Yes I want to replace my SIM"
6 On the next page click "yes I'm sure"

then wait up to 30 minutes or sooner (normally about 10 minutes) for activation,
this allows you to keep your number/goodybag and credit etc

Why is it better to do a SIM swop than put the old SIM in the new phone? Is it better to use  a new SIM?
