Newbie technophobe so don't shout thicko at me Smiley Happy

Poised over the keyboard to activate my giffgaff sim........but......

I like to test things before diving head first in.  Hey I'm sensible.

So the question is, can I activate my giffgaff sim and put a months goodybag on that I am planning to use to see how it goes.  Then if I'm happy in a months time arrange to port my number over from 02?

Or should I stop being a fool and just get on with it.  All I can see I will lose is visual mail and 'the cloud wifi' which I never use.

You can port your number at any time so no problem there at all.

I moved my number from o2 straight away and haven't looked back since!

That should be absolutely fine, provided you maintain your phone number with your current provider until then of course.

You can do that fine, just be aware that once you have a pac code from o2 they need to be used in 30 days, but if you have not got it yet then test away for a month if it makes you feel better Smiley Happy  welcome to giffgaff Smiley Happy

Yes that should be fine. I'm sure you will love giffgaff though.

The Pac code has a validity period of 30 days. If it has not been used by this time you will have to ask for another.

Yep this is fine to do. You need to activate your sim anyway and a giffgaff number will be generated. You can top up and use a goodybag for a month or however long you want, if you like giffgaff (which im sure you will Smiley Happy ) just request a PAC code from o2 and port your number over Smiley Happy

Thanks all for such prompt advice.  Threw caution to the wind and ported over straight away.  Goodybag at the ready!

Cheers for the advice Smiley Happy
