Hey, this mean you haven’t use your number for more than 6 months and so you have lost your number.
I’m sorry.. this happens with all the networks, it’s not giffgaff the bad one

@grazyb2 how long ago did you get the email? Did it specify a date? Can you see your number on your dashboard here?
If no number is showing then your phone number may have been deactivated due to non-use. See info here,
If it's only just happened in the last couple of days, it's a long shot but you could try asking an agent here,
Just pick the closest category and explain fully.

If, not topped up or used the service for 6 or more months then the SIM is deactivated and number recycled.

To keep your SIM and number active, at least once every six months, your Account is used to:

a) make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (not including calls to emergency services or Member Services);
b) make at least one connection to the Internet;
c) make at least one airtime credit or Bundle purchase.

However, if have used the service or topped within 6 months then contact agent: and inform about email received.

Agent reply can be check here:

Thanks for your response
But after contacting an agent and report that I cannot text or call before loosing my number and credit balance I was unable to activate my number because I was getting a msg " not registered on network" which is an indication that my number was already taken from me before the date I was given.
I was assured that my number was Still mine and informed of my £17 balance.

I am still not able to use the number. Msg still says not registered on network.
How can I get registered on the giffgaff network.
I am currently using another phone that does not take the old size simcard

Topped up or not using my phone in last 6 months is no longer the issue that was sorted by an agent
My current problem is " I am not registered on the giffgaff network.

How can I get registered so I can activate my number

I have to use another phone to contact giffgaff but this phone does not use the big size simcard that is in the phone with my giffgaff card

hi @grazyb2

You should find a cheap SIM adaptor to turn your smaller SIM into a larger size one.

Or find another unlocked phone which will take your current SIM, ask a friend or local phone shop.

You simply need to send a successful text to keep your SIM and phone number active.
