Hi,
I have turned my phone off and on 3 times since my number has been transfered onto giffgaff.
So far, I have managed to use data, but not been able to massage or call anyone.
The same happens the other way round, noone has managed to call me or message me aither.
I need this sorted as soon as possible as my mobile number is the only way to reach me.
Does anyone no what I need to do?

Switch the phone off for 5 mins and then restart it.See if it kicks in.If not see below,
Check the O2 service in your area.
If all good,
Go into your Phone's Settings and find the Network section.Do a Manual scan for Networks. When the list populates
pick any Network other than GiffGaff or O2.When it fails then Pick Giffgaff and shut the phone down for a few minutes
and then restart it.
Also if you can connect to the Internet with the Phone install the free GiffGaff app,
https://giffgaff.com/mobile-app
And then restart the phone. This will install the correct GiffGaff Network settings better than
the Sim normally does and if you have to go find and use the Reset Network Settings on the phone. On many Android phones this is in the Network settings or in the Back up and Restore section but only choose this option as you don't want to do a,"Factory Restore!

If today is your transfer day, read on:
What to expect on the day your number transfers:
Number transfers are done in batches throughout the day from about 9am until 9pm. There's no way of knowing in advance what time yours will start or how long it will take.
Whilst the transfer takes place all credit and goodybags will be removed from your account. These will return when the transfer is completed. Do not attempt to add more credit / another goodybag during this time, as you risk losing the money.
You will lose service on both SIM cards (could be at different times). After you lose service on your giffgaff SIM, turn your phone off for 30 minutes. Thereafter restart it every 30 minutes until you get service back. Please be aware that this may be just a few minutes or several hours later
Even when your number appears to have transferred to giffgaff (and you may receive a text saying the transfer is complete), there will be lots of things going on in the background, so expect the unexpected and be prepared for erratic service for the rest of the day. You only need to be concerned if your giffgaff SIM is not fully working with your ported number after 9am the following morning.

@crism82 Do your friends hear, "The number is not recognised, check the number and radial or call the operator on 100"
Classically that means the SIM has not provisioned properly and only an agent can assist in putting this right.

If however your Porting day was booked for today you should just keep trying as the transfer will take a while to process by a 3rd party company.
