Hi @icooper191,

It sounds as though the phone you are changing to is locked to another network and you will need to get it unlocked before you can use your giffgaff SIM card in it.

Please use this link for a guide to unlocking your phone to work on giffgaff. https://giffgaff.com/unlock

I hope this helps.

Your new phone is locked to a network other than O2.  It needs to be unlocked before it will work with a giffgaff SIM.

I do not work for giffgaff, so cannot check anything on your account. This is a public community - please do not post any personal info.

Hi @icooper191

Are you sure your new Phone is unlocked? It sounds like your phone is locked to another network provider. The giffgaff SIM will only be accepted in mobile device that is either unlocked or locked to the o2 network.

If the phone is locked your best and easy option is to contact the network provider the phone is locked to and request to have it unlocked. I also suggest you check out the giffgaff unlockapedia here http://www.giffgaff.com/unlock for free impartial advise on unlocking your phone.

if you have a iPhone you can try syncing it with iTunes to see if that helps. You can follow this https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201253 guide from Apple on syncing your phone with iTunes.

Hi @icooper191

This means that the phone you are transferring it to is locked to another provider other than giffgaff O2 you'll need to get it  unlocked at a local store

Hi  icooper191

Giffgaff sims only works in a device unlocked or locked to 02.

Ways could try to unlock mobile https://giffgaff.com/unlock

Or could try a independent mobile shop to unlock your mobile.

Which ever try then may be a charge to do.

Hi @icooper191

Giffgaff SIM work only in unlock or o2 lock phones. However, it seem that your new phone is locked to other service provider.

You need to get it unlock from whom you have purchased it or the service provider on which it's locked to use on giffgaff.
