But when I looked back for them some time later they are not showing. I complrted the transfer again but still I cant see the contacts in 'People'. Am I missing something here?

Why not add the icloud account to the phone and then you will have all your contacts. Are you saving the imported ones to a certain account?

Is the windows phone also logged into a microsoft account? The contacts should bluetooth across from tne iphone then also stay in sync with your microsoft account.

Hi, I have added my icloud account to the new windows phone. However, have had previous issues with syncing the contacts and photo's etc on to my icloud account,  so can't also get my contacts to sync this way.

Ok when you go to people app it will say at the top 'showing xxxxx accounts'. If it says some tap that.

Then it will have a list of contact locations?
If you have your icloud account linked is it checked here? Or the account you believe you saved the imported contacts to?

You can go into settings / accounts / email and app accounts then select the account you want to save on tap it then manage, then go to change mailbox sync settings and ensure sync contacts is on.

Also is the only Microsoft account linked to your phone an Exchange account? If so i believe you also need a Mycroft account sick as outlook or live to register the phone to. Which may well be your problem
