I am thinking of cancelling my Internet privider and just using my phone. I will use it mainly for Sat Nav, Facebook and Ebay. Will I be charged for data if I am only looking at these sites and using GPS after I have downloaded the maps to my phone?

A £10 goodybag should cover most of your needs.

Most sat navs like Tomtom only need gps not data.

Please Kudos me if i helped!

You will use some data but it will depend on which software you use.

E.g if you use tomtom for navigation, it will download traffic updates etc. If you use Google maps it will be downloading the maps in real time.

If you're relying on it for apps etc then you will have to allow for the data the apps use in the background and for updates. That can be more than you expect.

Don't forget that the goodybag rules have just changed. If you run out of data, you can buy another goodybag without waiting until your expiry date so you won't have to buy data at airtime credit rates if you run out.
