Seeing as giffgaff are currently not able to provide us with a nano sim, I decided that I'll try and cut my own nano sim card, but I want to know whether I can cut the actual chip on the sim card.

Before, I thought that this would not actually be possible, but when reading a few pages, specifically this one, it says that the chip can actually be cut seeing as certain areas of it are not actually used.

If this is not possible, do giffgaff offer a sim card which has a smaller chip? I never thought this would be a possibility either, but I've seen many sim cards lately, and some chips are wider than others.

What is everyone elses thoughts based on this?

Personally I wouldn't, you can EASILY wreck the SIM, they also need to be sanded down to be slim enough to fit.

Giffgaff will be supplying the nano SIM soon

It can be done, but practise on one or two unactivated SIMS first!

Although possible to make your own nanoSIM, it will be difficult as nano sims are thinner than micro/normal sims
