How do I disable the voicemail facility?

On O2 you used to use 1750 to turn on and 1760 to turn off...

These don't work on giffgaff though. It would be an idea if GG had a page giving us all the service numbers.

Sorted!

Dial #004# to disable and *004# to re-activate...

Look for the divert calls option on your phone, then go to voice calls -> not reachable. First click on 'get status' and you should be sent the voicemail number your calls are diverted to (I'd recommend writing this down and storing it as a contact on your phone). Then go to 'not reachable' again and select cancel or deactivate.

Ah ok you got it already. Smiley Happy I'll just mention another tip then that you can use the call divert feature to divert to voicemail even when your phone is reachable if you ever have a need to do this.

Thanks for that, good to know you can do that on GiffGaff.

I've got Vonage with SimulRing set up to ring both my mobile and home phone at the same time, only problem is it takes the one that answers first, regardless of whether it's an answerphone or not.

So if it's not disabled if I try and ring the house phone from the mobile I get the mobiles answerphone as the answerphone answers first.

3 was the worst network for this as even if you disable the answerphone you get a recorded message telling you the person is on the phone, or when your out of network (which then that meant no-one could call the home phone).

Thanks, using your method I have just switched of my voice mail.

Now at last I might be able to answer the phone before it goes to voicemail.

This is the correct codes to reactivate and disable voicemail on giff gaff. It has already been mentioned on this thread.

Hi,

Do you know if this works on mobiles in general or is this a fix for your own equipment?

Just got this new mobile which just about makes the tea etc but I need a 5 yr old to show me how and I dont want to mess the phone up.

Thanks DM DEB
