Yes it does! Giffgaff SIMs are enabled for international roaming by default, so you shouldn't have a problem using your phone abroad with giffgaff.

You will need airtime credit to use your phone abroad, as goodybags are UK only. If you are manually topping up online whilst abroad you will need to reset your phone, or switch flight mode on and off, to initialise your credit.

Finally, data/internet usage (aka data roaming) is expensive, 45p/mb in the EU, £5/mb everywhere else!! It's best to stick to wifi or get a local SIM if you can!

Prices for calling/texting to/from international countries are detailed here http://giffgaff.com/index/international

ABROAD Tips and prices.
Goody bag is UK only.
Abroad is cash only.

Before you get abroad turn mobile data and data roaming off, this will protect you credit. You can turn it back on later if and when you want. Go to settings, more, mobile networks, turn data enabled off, here you can turn data roaming off too.

Your phone will automatically latch onto one of our partner networks when you get there..
Lots of public places, hotels, bars, etc like McDonald's provide free wifi so keep checking! then you can use Viber calls, txts

See here for our partner networks that may show on your phone when you land.
Abroad. O2 partner networks worldwide. http://www.o2.cz/osobni/en/roaming/225561-prehled_roaming_partneru.html

See here for international/roaming charges:

Hi , there is no giffgaff international packages but international roaming charges will apply and it won't come from your uk only goodybag so top up with airtime credit before you go.
Turn mobile data and voicemail off.
Giffgaff automatically roams you don't need to do anything . Your phone will pick up an affiliate network when you get there.. Lots of hotels and bars McDonald's etc provide free wifi..
Please check here for international/roaming charges:

@mano1988 (see below)

[ giffgaff™ roaming information ]

⬜ 1, Neither goodybags or gigabags will work once your out of the UK .. The goodybags and the gigabags only work in the UK so you will need to top-up and select normal top-up credit (airtime balance)

⬜ 2, Full listings and all information is found here ➜ www.giffgaff.com/index/international

⬜ 3, More updates on new pricing ➜ http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Blog/New-International-Pricing-and-EU-Roaming-Changes/ba-p/9057012

There's also a handy guide here ➜ http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Learn-giffgaff-Top-Tips/Mobile-internet-roaming/ta-p/3522931

⬜ 4, Auto Roaming is set as default so its set to work automatically

Also : The internet cost can be quite expensive aswel on giffgaff whilst abroad so I suggest trying to get on a free Wifi Hotspot if you can, that's if you want too , or if you do have that option available (WiFI)

• Just Incase you have problems out the UK •

And Just Incase: You might have to take your sim out for a minute or 2 and then put the sim back in and let it search for a network ' if you have any problems via connecting to a network or you carnt call out etc' But please do make sure you have normal topup credit

Giffgaff’s published roaming prices currently have a significant error. They incorrectly include VAT for roaming outside the EU VAT area (e.g. in the Canary Islands) where giffgaff correctly charges no VAT, so they are 20% more than they should be. I have given a detailed explanation of this error in the ideas forum.

it does work so long as you have a quadband phone or higher and have a ton of credit and that there is a peering agreement in place as not all regions do
