Grrrrr!!!!! Still can't get sim to work

I have asked before for help to get my sim working. I have found out when I have to put in my PUK number to register my Sim it only brings up a box with numbers on it not letters too. Took to phone shop n they said couldnt help. I am using my old Samsung Galaxy Ace as a emergency phone. Any help would be appreciated

You appear to be confusing different functions of the service.

 

A PUK (Personal (or PIN) Unblocking Key) is used to unlock a SIM card after the wrong PIN has been entered three times.  A PUK is 8 numbers.

 

A PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) is used to transfer a mobile number between different providers. A PAC is 3 letters followed by 6 numbers

 

Statements like  "I'm trying to get my SIM to work" are not very informative, so please let me know exactly what you're trying to do, what you've done so far, and the full text of any error message(s)

You need to follow the instructions here under the heading 'Getting started' as it is all explained there.

 

You might also find the thread with this video of use too.
