Thank you for your reply. I've just checked the txts and they sent the 80% txt 23mins before before it ran out. So they are saying I've used the last 20% and the gb in 2mins. Is that even possible? Especially when I only checked my fb and flicked through a couple of videos
Although it does seem a lot of data to have used so quickly @johnmells it is not impossible.
As data is like electricity ie giffgaff provides the means to access it but how it is used is up to you, it means that asking giffgaff where you have used the data will not be possible.
However you should be able to check your phone to see the data used by each app and the phone itself and you can then go to any that appear to have used a large amount and check that app’s settings.

Although it won’t help now it may be worth downloading a data manager app so that in the future you can monitor things as you go and immediately identify anything unusual.
I use mydatamanager which also offers the chance to set multiple custom alerts so that you wouldn’t have to rely on the receipt of giffgaff’s messages because, as you have discovered, these cannot be guaranteed to arrive “in time” due to the vagaries of the SMS network.
