I live in Brighton - if I threw a stone from my porch, it might land on the Pier. I have an S8, and when I am here/home/in this central location, I get 1 bar worth of reception. It is ridiculous for a Network to be useless in such a location. Who can I alert about this so that it can get sorted?

Sorry to hear you have issues, sometimes this can be solved as easily as turning your device off and back on

you can also check the service in your area here

https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service#coverage

You can also pop your postcode in here for any localised issues https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Service-Updates/Service-Checker/td-p/17646124

Its all down to O2 and their mast locations

Hope you get sorted

@prince_g >>>

See if theres any faults here ➜ http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/service-updates/service-checker/td-p/17646124

Unsure what network giffgaff runs on - giffgaff operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator using the o2 / Telefonica Network

● Check your coverage here ➜ https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service

Still not working? >>>

• Try the rest below •

● Try A Network / Signal Reset ➜ https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/Force-the-change-of-SMS-settings/ta-p/4871794

● Also: Hand clean the sim (Very Soft)

• Other Possibility •

You could also be in a bad area for receiving a good Signal/Service if it is fine at other locations (if all of my info hasn't solved it)

• If A Mast Is Down In Your Area •

● This is no fault of giffgaffs,this would also effect members on the O2 network and anything that's run with O2 in your area so it's down to the O2 repair team to fix it and to update there website,the O2 website gets updated every hour so it's best to keep checking it or you could search the O2 forums within your area search and see if there's a clearer explanation.

Or you could think other options if your still unsatisfied with giffgaff reception etc.

Hi @prince_g

You can check your network coverage here:  https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service#coverage

If there are no service issues, it will be a general issue with O2, you can contact them here:  https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

@prince_g

Hello the masts belong to o2 if you live in an earia that has bad coverage there is nothing you can do ,

try a couple of things if not I am sorry but you can only try a different network,

first put postcode here check for mast problems https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service#coverage

if if all ok try a manual roam to force network http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/Force-the-change-of-SMS-settings/ta-p/4871794

also check APN if wrong insert

Hi there,
You could also try using a different phone. While I like Samsung, I know someone else who got a nice new shiny one and instantly noticed a substantial drop in reception compared to their previous phone. Until then I wasn't really aware that different phones can have a substantially different reception.
You may well find if you put your sim in a couple of phones some of them get several more bars than you currently do.
