Hi check guide might clear and let you know issues
Giffgaff network status
I suggest you check the network signal status in your area to see if you’re having any outages or if any maintenance is being carried out by entering your postcode here http://www.bit.ly/ggservicestatus plus

https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Service-Updates/Outgoing-calls-texts-data-failing-14-Apr-2016/m-p/...

Please remember that the Website is updated hourly and may Not show any issues at the moment , also try Turning your Airplane Mode ON and OFF again and see if that helps.
If the Signal Checker is showing NO reported issues, Please try performing a manual roaming usually that sloves majority of text problems please check out this guide https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Tips-Guides/Manual-Roam/td-p/3345471 on how to perform a manual roam.

And try turning your device off again for a couple of minutes and then turn it back to force the device to refresh the network signal.
If after doing the above you find it's still the same then this thread could be worth a read too

Live results for WC1, England, London (Admin. Region)

  • Sorry a phone mast in this area isn't working

This means your service might come and go until we fix it.

Updated 15:30 (refreshed hourly). Recent faults might not show yet.

If you use the service checker at http://status.o2.co.uk/ with your full postcode you may see a button to register for updates about this fault.  I suspect that the button is only available if they haven't already had lots of people register.

Hello there
Members on the community are your customer service and always plenty of members on the community online who are happy to help giffgaff customers.
You should try restarting your phone if your experience bad reception or no service, restarting your phone often helps with bad reception issues, or simply try the signal checker for maintenance or issues in your area

Manually re-install apn settings:

https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Settings-for-you...

Download the giffgaff app this should help with the correct settings, depending what phone you are using:

https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=giffgaff+app

Check the signal strength on the phone screen. If you generally get good coverage in this area, check if there is no temorary mast issues:

http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Solve-your-questi...

Or network issues:

http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Service-Updates/b...

Remove any accessory covers or shells from the phone temporary to check if covers affect the phones's signal strength.

Try changing the network connection to 3G ("Settings" > "Cellular (mobile network)" > "Highest connection speed").

Try reconnecting by switching "Flight mode" On and back Off ("Settings" > "Flight mode"). This resets the active connection.

Switch off your phone and take out the simcard. If the simcard is not properly inserted or if the simcard tray is not fully closed, the phone may get disconnected from the network.

Try your simcard in another phone to check if the issue is with your phone or your simcard.

If you continue to have problems then ask an agent, they can look into this for you:

@ashish888 >>>

Try These:

See if theres any faults here by typing in your post code ➜ http://status.o2.co.uk

Unsure what network giffgaff runs on - giffgaff operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator using the o2 / Telefonica Network

⬜ • Check your coverage here ➜ https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service

Still not working?

----- Try the rest below -----

⬜ - Try A Network Reset ➜ http://is.gd/manualroam

⬜ - Also ➜ Hand clean the sim ( Very Soft )

-- Other Possibility --

• You could also be in a bad area for receiving a good Signal/Service if it is fine at other locations (if all of my info hasn't solved it)
