In this morning I've received 3 text messeges from Remote Games ltd. They took 4.50 pounds from me without any permission, claiming that I had subscibed to their service which I had not. I've never heard about this company before, they must have chosen my number at random. I did a little research and I can see now, that I am not their only victim. My question is how I can stop them to charge me and how I can get my money back? And is there any way of preventing this thing happening again?

You will probably have unknowningly subscribed to this @kristophoros

in the message does it tell you to send the word STOP to prevent further money being taken? You'll need a bit of credit to do this, or if there is a website you will need to contact them to unsubscribe, deleting the texts will not prevent the money being taken, maybe if you have NO CREDIT on your balance and no auto top up enabled they will give up after a while. It has happened to quite a few people, £4.50 is alot of money to lose.

Unlike some others on here I do not think it was your fault that you were subscribed to this service without your consent. Remote Games Ltd were fined £70,000 with £15,000 costs in February 2015 for a very similar fraud.

There appears to be a pattern emerging with all these cases in the past two weeks!

I think some members on this forum need to stop blaming the people being scammed and set their sights on the scammers. Playing a video on Facebook does not constitute a consent to charge £4.50 to your phone account. Neither does the fact that someone has accidentally (or deliberately) entered your phone number on a dodgy web site. The regulator requires that these service providers can prove that they have informed consent before making these charges.
Please insist on getting a refund from Remote games Ltd, but also report your case to the regulator. If everyone who was scammed in the threads above complains, the regulator cannot ignore them.
Please feel free to contact me if you need help in obtaining a refund or in making your complaint. I want to see Remote Games Ltd closed down permanently this time.
