Quite a few members have been reporting slow speeds. Giffgaff are aware that there is a problem and they are trying to fix it, we'll see.

There's some information about it here: http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/News-Announcements/Data-Experience-Discussion/td-p/12877838

Try doing a speedtest to see what you're actually getting

Yes, giffgaff and data speeds are a long term problem. I don't even recommend giffgaff anymore to people who need reliable data rates.

There is no FUP or throttling for mobile phone data use, but demand at certain times is simply too much. In a nutshell, it's an issue of capacity - or the lack of it, as many members find the speeds unacceptably low.

Several threads of interest here for you to have a look at -

However, while giffgaff do not " technically " have a FUP, action is being taken over the data hoggers, with the aim of improving the overall service -

There is no FUP

i be careful with NO FUP comments now (you have the option to buy a unlimited goodybag Removed if you use above 15GB over 30 days)

@greenfrogman

I know what I said.

giffgaff are treading on very thin ice with their " we don't have a FUP " statements. But that's for the men in suits to quibble over.

Refusing the re-purchase of unlimited data goodybags sounds like a FUP to me, but apparently it isn't. It's data management or some other baloney expression. Essentially, these definitions are cobblers.

i know, but some how some giffgaff users are getting above 1mb/s in the day time

@kevgaxx

if your placing a ban on unlimited goodybags due to lack of Any traffic management, its a FUP or HFUP H=Hidden

data should be slowed down for high data users, if they use X amount of data over 30 days then slow them down at peak time, its that simple (lycamobile do this but per billing cycle)
