@gpara61
Hi are you currently in the UK or abroad?

Which phone do you have?
Do you see a connection symbol
(3G, 4G, H, E, gprs)
Next to the signal bars?

@gpara61  is the phone unlocked from Vodafone if not it won't work with a giffgaff sim card you'll need to ask Vodafone to unlock or take to likes of local phone repairs shop or try cheap unlock  codes on eBay

I suggest you try these 2 options.
NETWORK COVERAGE: to check if there is a network problem in your area
https://giffgaff.com/support/calls-and-internet/coverage-signal
---------------------

I suggest you do a Manual Reset, it often works & is worth a try. This info. will help you.

This is a helpful link when having trouble connecting to the internet at home or abroad:
---------
If you can't get on the internet try this out on your phone: it's only the 'Generic settings', but worth a try.
1. Go to settings
2. Then go to mobile networks
3. Select a network other than O2(gg) i.e EE or Vodaphone
4. Come out of settings and it should say no network coverage or something similar
5. Repeat the process this time choose O2(gg) and this will update your number to the message centre and should help your texts
The message centre number in your message settings should be +447802002606
