Messed up on activation...

so, if I’ve managed to activate a sim not connected to my giff gaff account how do I proceed? I try to make a new account it says email already has an account, I try to add sim to account it says SIM card already activated..... help!

Are you trying to active a new SIM or change SIMs on a existing account?

If you wanted to activate a new SIM then Its one SIM card per account so you needed to logged out your current account and then followed the steps below

- Log out here https://giffgaff.com/auth/logout from your current account,
- Follow this https://giffgaff.com/activate link to the activation page and enter the 6 digit activation code from the new SIM. If you lost this code, you can use the 13 or 19 digit code printed on the SIM itself (right before 3Ggg1 or 4Ggg4).
- Click "Activate your SIM", then register a new account (do not log into your existing account).

The username you enter must be unique, any other details such as email, address and payment details e.g. debit/credit card details can be the same as your current account.

@ilove82  It's one sim per account so you cannot add another sim to your account, it needs to have a different username, 

the personal details/address/payment details can all be the same ..... even the password if you wish, but do create another account for your other sim.

Ok so my old sim on this account is no longer active... I don’t remember making an account when I activated the new sim...... how do I proceed??

It's not completely clear what you have done, but you need to remember each giffgaff SIM must have its own account. When you have two + accounts each must have a unique user name, such as ilove82 and ilove182, but all the rest of the information, including the email address, may be the same.

So, using the SIM card that said it had been activated send a text FORGOTTEN to 43430 and you will receive a message with that SIM's email address & username. (You do not need to reset your password if asked.)

Do the same with the other SIM too and you will know where you stand.

It is impossible to activate a giffgaff SIM without it being linked to an account.

 

To receive accurate advice, please explain exactly what you are trying to achieve.  For example, do you want to:

 

  1. Get a new number with giffgaff?
  2. Get an additional number with giffgaff?
  3. Replace another working giffgaff SIM?
  4. Replace another giffgaff SIM that has stopped working recently?
  5. Replace another giffgaff SIM that has not been used for a long time?
  6. Replace a giffgff SIM that you have lost / had stolen and have reported to giffgaff?
  7. Replace a giffgff SIM that you have lost / had stolen and have not reported to giffgaff?
  8. Reactivate an old SIM?
  9. Something else?
