Mobile data update failed

Anyone had this? Happened two days ago. It's already up to date. I don't understand

Is it the increase in data in your goodybag that you haven't received?

Nah. I just woke up to this message saying mobile data update fail. Never happened before even when I've run out of data. Can't access 3/4g. Just says it needs to be updated but I'll check on apple site to see if that helps.

Are you currently in the UK or abroad?
Can you make calls and send texts?

Do you see a giffgaff or O2-UK logo next to the signal dots?

Do you see a connection symbol
(3G, 4G, H, E, gprs)
And if you switch to 3G from 4G it still fails to connect?
Go to
Settings
Mobile data
Mobile data options
Voice and data
And tick 3G

Complete these steps/checks
Go to
Settings
Mobile data
Switch off mobile data and 3G /4G and back on to reastablish the settings

Where it says
Use mobile data for
Check that all buttons are switched to on

Go to
Settings
General
Profiles
And remove any vpn and data profiles
(go to the next step if you don't see a profiles tab)

Go to
Settings
General
Reset
And click reset network settings
The phone will switch off and restart automatically in a few minutes

(extra step if you have a O2-UK logo rather than a giffgaff logo)
Install this profile via safari with wifi
Http://j.mp/iphoneprofile

Switch on airplane mode and switch off

Now try and connect to a Web page via safari

The mobile data screen is even there when I go Into it. All it says is "an update is required to use mobile data on this phone" learn more.

@lfcheart  that suggests that your phone requires an update from the manufacturer.

 

I think, up-thread, you mentioned Apple, so it is an iPhone.

 

Connect to a PC and sync with iTunes to see if that prompts the update to be downloaded.   If it were an Android, I would connect to WiFi and check, via settings, for an update.

Did that. Didn't work. I'll try link it with iTunes through a computer. If that don't work then I'll need a new phone ffs.
