I had the same problem when I upgraded from a San Francisco to my moto g the amount of background data they use is phenomenal . the first day I took it out cost me £12 on paygo unless you get an unlimited goody bag you need to disable mobile data . Or you can go into your settings - data and set a daily limit of 20 megs or your preference. You could also download watchdog from the play store which you can setup as you wish and have a visual warning in your notification tray.

@madzukun was using data with No goodybag active
@madzukun you misunderstood the 20p for up to 20mb per day rule thew is 2 of them

it's 20p/20MB per day(resets at midnight) but once you have used 20mb it's 20p per every 1MB, so you can eat £20 in just by watching a YouTube video

strongly recommend £12 goodybag as it has unlimited data untill you work out if you use more then 1gb a month (still recommend staying with it as to easy on smartphones to use a lot of data)

20p per day is for the first 20MB. Each additional MB is 20p after that.

If you read this thread it will explain how data has used your airtime credit and adjustments to make to your smartphones to stop it happening again. https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Tips-Advice/Why-has-my-credit-disappeared-when-I-haven-t-used-my-p...

@gedbloggs

Turn Data off or buy a £12 or £15 goodybag, then Data should stop talking credit
