Hello there the problem that I have is that my dongle has stopped working and I can't find out the problem with it My computer still connects to the internet using a friends wifi but at the same time the Gif Gaf dongle has stopped working. When I put it in the blue light comes on but it then doesn't bring up the gif gaf network but the blue light still comes on. It doesn't give the option of connecting to the Gif Gaf network. So please reply to >**email_removed** or to my phone on>**phone_number_removed** so you can ring me or SMS?

@sue2014  has the dongle ever worked with a giffgaff sim card 

 

Is it unlocked or on the 02 network

Not seen any replies I'm afraid and still got the same problem with my dongle unfortunaly - where can I find my messages then please?

Take the sim out of the dongle and put it in an unlocked phone and prove that its working, then call 43430 and choose option 2 (buy a goodybag) and listen to your up to date balances.

 

Does it connect?

do you have a data allowance or airtime credit.?

Are you not able to use your phones hotspot connection to connect to the internet  using your Giffgaff sim?

It sounds like your computer has forgotten the Internet settings (so it's connecting to the Dongle-Settings but not actually trying to use it).

 

Do you remember how you set the Dongle-Settings and computer up the very first time you used it? 

You just need to do the exact same again. You must have set it up before as giffgaff don't sell dingles so you must have bought one and put the giffgaff settings in. 

 

This is a simple official giffgaff guide for dongle settings. Some dongle don't have every setting - just fill in every line that your dongle has settings for.

Make sure you save, then also check if you have more than one setting on your dongle that the giffgaff one is marked default/active as otherwise it won't try to use it, then reboot the dongle and pc before it will start working.

I've still not got my dongel sorted out as not really sure what I've got to do with it and I never set it up to start with unfortunately - my friend set it up for me and I no longer am InTouch with them now so carn't ask them!!

Thankyou for your help though so far - really appreciate all of the information recieved so far but still no luck with connection to Giffgaff with dongel? ☹️
