My phone is locked to the 02 network. Other than being able to use different network sim cards are there any other advantages to paying for my Xperia XZ to be it unlocked from 02?  I asked this question earlier on the Sony Forum but as yet nobody's replied....!

I know from past experience that will not be the case with giffgaffers, lol

THANKS 😉😉

@tina66 I’ve never known it to make any real difference to any unlocked handsets I’ve owned previously.

Not sure if there would be further info on a specific Sony website/forum page

@tina66 I suppose it depends if you want to sell it or use another carrier?

Thanks. I don't want to change networks (I'm happy with gg) I'm curious as to whether there are any other good reasons for paying £15/20 to unlock it! 😏

I don’t think there are really - I’ve not heard any and as I say, it never seemed to make a difference other than using a different carrier.

If I do hear of anything I’ll let you know 🙂
