Hi.

Although I can't get 4G in my home patch yet, my mobile is 4G ready and I might get it on some of my travels..... so I've ordered a new/replacement SIM.

I'm already a giffgaff customer so do I have to get a PAC from giffgaff to give to giffgaff or is there an easier way to keep my number?

Cheers.

A PAC is for transferring out of giffgaff to another service provider.

You can transfer your existing account, including your number, any credit, active and queued goodybags and any payback points, from one sim to another using the sim swap feature.

Sim swaps usually only take up to 30 minutes to complete but can sometimes take up to 24 hours if there is a system issue.
Sim swaps can also sometimes fail. You have to allow 24 hours to pass before you raise a case with the agents as they will not investigate until 24 hours has passed.

Hi guesthouse, there is a process in place to do just that called  Sim Swap.

Order yourself the required size of Sim from your own Spread giffgaff page.

Once it arrives, follow this guide:

http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084

All of your account info - goodybag, credit, user name, mobile number etc remain the same on your new replacement sim.

Please don't forget to Kudo if my post is helpful or mark as Best Answer if appropriate, thanks.

You can do a sim swap easily and all your details stay the same. But you won't get 4g performance. For that you need a 4g goody bag and to be in the 4g trial. You need all 4g to get 4g.
Phone
Settings
Sim
Goody bag
Signal.

To do your sim swap
SIM SWAP with video+ Time slot.Order another sim from your spread page https://giffgaff.com/orders/mgm

when the sim arrives you will need to perform a sim swap See here http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084

PLEASE NOTE!!!
You can only do a SIM Swap between 4:30am and 9:30pm.
Once started, SIM Swap is non-reversible.
If you are unable to see the first 6 numbers of the SIM serial number on a nano SIM - it will always be 894411 & must be entered along with the visible numbers on your SIM.
SIM activation code of existing SIM on your account can be found by entering the SIM serial number into the SIM Checker tool.
