Assuming the 'new' SIM is not yet active -  do a SIM Swap to take across your phone number and any credit/goodybag you might have:

@will1488

When your new SIM arrives perform a SIM Swap -   All SIMs now shipped by giffgaff are 3 in 1 made up of a Standard , Micro and Nano. If you wish to form a Nano or Micro size SIM all you will need to do is pop out the middle of the SIM. see the image below

The SIM swap process will transfer your current number and allowances e.g. goodybag and/or airtime credit over to the new SIM. The process should take no more than 30 minutes to complete and can be performed anytime between 4.30am and 9.30pm

Please check out this http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084 guide on how to perform the SIM Swap or you can follow this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1QoXIl6xEM video demo.

Hi @will1488
The sim swap process may be because your old sim won’t fit your new phone or it is damaged
you can order a new sim from here
http://giffgaff.com/orders/mgm
The whole process should take no more than 30 minutes but it some cases it can take upto 24 hours to fully complete
Here is a handy video & a guide to assist

Hi there

That's no problem at all @will1488, you will need to perform a SIM Swap procedure on the new, unactivated giffgaff SIM card that you've ordered.  SIM cards are usually delivered in 2-3 working days.   Please check your current SIM. If it is a relatively new giffgaff SIM, it may be one of our Trio SIMs already (it will have markings in which other SIM sizes can pop out of).

To make life easy, giffgaff are now sending out triple SIMs which contain all 3 different sizes of SIMs in one. This means that a single SIM can be used as a standard sized SIM (Mini SIM), a Micro SIM and a Nano SIM. Hence you cannot order the wrong SIM and giffgaff doesn't have to stock 3 different sized SIMs. Triple SIMs are also known as trio, 3 in 1 or hybrid SIMs.

When the SIM card is delivered, you the need to perform a SIM Swap. It’s an easy process and does not take long.

When you perform a SIM Swap procedure, your number and any airtime credit / goodybag bundles are transferred onto your new sized SIM card.

To perform a SIM Swap:

- Back-up any contacts, texts and other data saved on your current SIM to your phone memory or PC, as this cannot be transferred through SIM Swap.

- Go to the Replace your SIM section of My giffgaff and click on 'Activate your SIM'.

If you have an active PAC code on your account then the link above will not work for you. Instead follow this link to cancel the PAC code and proceed from the point above.

There's a full guide on how to perform a giffgaff SIM Swap procedure (click the link below), which also includes a fantastic video tutorial on the whole process.

@will1488; after the newly ordered SIM card arrives, pop out the size that fits the form factor of your phone's SIM slot, and then perform a SIM Swap; SIM Swap allows a user to retain the existing number.

I hope this helps.
