You should probably check the service status in your area, which you can do from http://status.o2.co.uk/ by entering your postcode and clicking the 'Check' button. This should give you any local issues, including planned and emergency engineering work, as well as indicating what sort of signal strength you should expect, and the quality of mobile internet connection.
If you find that there are no issues reported in your area, try:
1. Turning your phone off, then wait five minutes, then turn your phone back on again, then wait five more minutes and try using it as normal
2. A manual roam - there's a handy guide for this at http://is.gd/manualroam
If I helped click ''solutions and kudos'' thanks.

Hi @crislacuesta

You need to set-up your handset with APN settings before you can use the internet or MMS with the giffgaff network.

As you haven't stated the phone you have, please follow the link below to find settings for the most popular handsets including iphones, android powered devices and blackberry's http://giff.ly/gg_settings

If your settings are fine please try the following steps

1) Turn your handset off and turn it back on again

2) Check to see if there are any outages in the mobile network where you are by entering your postcode http://www.bit.ly/ggservicestatus

If you find that there are no issues with the signal you can try manual roaming- http://tiny.cc/243r0w

Hi,

After some tinkering I discovered I had somehow, and I don't know how, disabled 'Use packet data' under Mobile network settings.

No idea how I managed to do that. And must have be chance it happened on or around changing my usual goodybag.

But thanks for the thoughts and suggestions...

Thanks
