have you checked to make sure that that there are no O2 outages in your area:

have you checked http://status.o2.co.uk to see if there are any reported problems in your area?

Check http://status.o2.co.uk and enter your post code to see if there are any reported phone masts faulty in your area.

Also did you use a goodybag? If so could be without credit and/or goodybag.

There's probably nothing you can do yourself. If you have another phone unlocked/locked to O2 then try putting your SIM in it and see if that one works fine. If it doesn't then as others have said, there is probably an outage in your area. If the other phone works fine, you will need to get your phone looked at.

the coverage is fine it says. plus i live with my mum who has o2 and she would have said something.

i have around £9 credit so it's not that. but even if i didn't have credit, it shouldn't say this. the words "limited service" are in the middle of my screen.

So ask your mother to lend you her sim and try it in your phone.

If it still says limited service then phone is at fault.

If it doesn't then try giffgaff sim in her phone.

If giffgaff sim in her phone shows limited service then time to order a replacement sim.

A replacement sim will cost you £10. This is coz the sim is free but needs activating before it can be used.

Once activated then you will still have same number and same payback points and same username. The only difference will be credit now £19.
