No service

I recently updated my phone and now i can no longer make calls or texts as it says no service or searching at the top and i have tried the sim in other phones and it works perfectly fine and it used to work fine in this phone however it does not anymore and it is not the phone as i have contacted apple and they have checked the phone and said that it is not something wrong with the phone. Also the service returns if i factory reset the phone however it goes after a few hours and i have to factory reset everytime to get it back.

Hmm that's frustrating!
*Check your phone settings are correct to receive gg signal

*If settings are ok but still no service, Check your network coverage status via link https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service to see whether there are outages or faults with the network signal (EDGE, 2G, 3G, and 4G) in your area.

NOTE! The information is updated hourly, so it’s worth checking a few times as your particular issue may not show up first time.
*If the signal is good try doing a manual roam… see link below for full guide which allows you to select the network provider manually

*Also turn your phone on to Airplane mode and ON and OFF every 30mins to update the gg signal
*Finally please try swapping SIMs with another phone to see if there's a problem with your phone or the giffgaff SIM.

It does sound like an issue with your phone if your SIM works in other phones.

From your description it sounds like the update caused the problem. Unfortunately as far as I know you can't roll back Apple updates. You might have to go to an Apple store and insist they sort out the problem.

I have tried all of those above mentioned ways in order to try and fix my devices’ service problems however none work and i also cant understand why  the service appears for a few hours and allows me to make calls and texts but then leaves afterwards and does not allow me to make calls or texts

Hi @jamilla did you get your iPhone unlocked to all networks via a phone stall or eBay? If so it sounds like the unlock was not permanent/reliable leading to the problems you're experiencing.

 

Otherwise can you borrow an O2 SIM to see if that will work OK in your phone?
