Would O2 accept a customer service call from someone who wasn't a direct customer of them? For most businesses I would expect to go through the company I'm a customer of...

I doubt o2 would as usually they ask for your o2 details before hand.
You could go into the nearest shop and asking them but bypass all info regarding if your on o2 if you can
