Just got a sim for my son. I want it to fit an old fliptop motorola which is about 8 years old and has only basic internet capability, but is mainly phone and text.

Firstly I would like to know what the phone number of the sim card is...

and secondly I don't want to pay to buy credit only to find the sim won't work on this phone. I know I can use the standard size sim of the 3 sizes, but will it work in this phone and if not can I get my money back? I can't seem to find anywhere where this information is available, or a support person to ask. If I've missed something obvious apologies, but can someone please help.

Thanks

@lausha

You do not get aphone number until you top-up and it is then allocated at random.

Easy to test whether the phone will work on giffgaff.

Even an unactivated giffgaff SIM will display signal bars/dots if it does you will be fine

No signal bars is a pretty clear sign that the phone is still locked to another network and you will not be able to use giffgaff.

Simple as that.

the large size sim should fit no problem

you wont get a number on giffgaff unless you top up or buy a goodybag

the only way to pay without a card is by any giffgaff or o2 voucher

@lausha, hi there, giffgaff sims will work in any phone 📱 that is unlocked 🔓 or on o2, you will only get a number once you have activated your sim you can find your number on your dashboard.
