@alisonjanerust

What day did you request to have your number transferred over to giffgaff?
The number transfer can take up to 24 hours however, usually 90% of number transfers are completed before 3pm on the requested day.

NOTE: No transfers are completed over weekends or public holidays e.g Bank Holiday.

You can check the progress of the number transfer here http://www.giffgaff.com/support/transfer

You will notice the start of the number transfer when you lose service and will go through the following steps:

1. Original SIM stops working
2. The giffgaff sim stops working
3. The giffgaff sim works (calls, texts and data will activate at different times)

For the complete detailed guide on the number transfer process on giffgaff please check out this http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Getting-started/How-do-I-keep-my-current-mobile-number/ta-p/3521127 knowledge base link.

If the number transfer isn't completed within the 24 hours ask a agent to look into it. To contact a giffgaff agent you will need to use the “Ask an agent” form here https://support2.giffgaff.com/app/ask/Number-transfers/Transferring-my-number-to-giffgaff/form/

A giffgaff agent will try to get back to you as soon as possible however, during busy periods an agent can take up to 24 hours to answer your posted question.

Any replies from a giffgaff agent can be found “Messages From Agents" box located on your "My Giffgaff" page, or the page can be accessed by following this https://giffgaff.com/support/questions
link.

???? I don't need a PAC code I have already entered the one BT (my old provider gave me) my number has now left BT and gone to a Giff Gaff ether somewhere BT confirm it's been ported over but I can get no sense from anyone at Giff Gaff as to where it is. Meanwhile, I am losing so much business as no one can get hold of me because it seems Giff Gaff have lost a number I have had for 20 years.
what do I do now as I cant talk to anyone....?

I'm not sure anyone is really understanding my question!

My old provider is BT - they gave me a PAC code immediately upon request.

I entered it on line on the GIFF GAFF site as requested on the 'keep your number page'

The code was accepted

BT confirm that my number has left them and it is ported over - I spoke to them tonight severaltimess because you can speak with BT on the phone -  a proper conversation

BUT when I call my old number it is dead and my new GIFF GAFF sim uses a new number

So where is my old number?
What has GIFF GAFF done with it.

I entered the PAC code on Wednesday so at least 24hours ago and there have been no weekends or bank holidays since Wednesday.

Has anyone any answer?
