There are many different ways to contribute to giffgaff's community, for more information or ideas on how you can help, please look here.

For any of these activities it's harder to attribute a specific amount of points and we were also worried about encouraging behaviour that might ruin the forum for others, like posting thousands of irrelevant or meaningless posts. We also recognise that there are dozens of ways forum users can help each other and contribute to the future of the company with ideas and suggestions.

So for those reasons we decided not to base points on a formula like: 'x contribution == y points'. Instead we look at the overall quality of community contribution, taking many things into consideration. So it is not the quantity it is the quality that counts.

Based on our assessment of how much quality assistance you have given we then place each member into a band, and every member in that band gets the same number of points. The bands from September 2012 onwards are:

•Band 1 - 3000 points - £30.00

•Band 2 - 2000 points - £20.00

•Band 3 - 1000 points - £10.00

•Band 4 -   100 points -   £1.00

•Band 5 -     10 points -   £0.10

You can earn payback two ways:

1. Giving out sim cards by ordering them and giving them out or by people ordering them from your affiliate page, more info on spreading sim cards here: http://giffgaff.com/spread
You earn £5 for each sim card that is activated that you gave out or was ordered from you

2. Helping in the community to answer questions (there is no exact price amount per question answered but giffgaff offer up to £30 per month)
Remember to select 'set as best answer' and 'kudos' on my answer if I helped you Smiley Happy

Payback is earned when you view things on community, answer questions, give ideas, support projects, make projects, make apps. And of such the more you do the more you get.

Here is a guide to Payback http://giffgaff.com/index/payback

Another guide here http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/Guide-to-payback-points/ta-p/3521553

Essentially by helping out in the forums you are rewarded payback points, these points get added to your payback around the 5th of each month. You can select how you wish payback to be paid out, either as airtime balance, payment via paypal or donated to charity.

If you are keen you can get involved by taking the "Approved Helper quizzes" and earn your self some payback here http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Help-Support/Become-an-Approved-Helper/td-p/8317802

Payback is paid out twice a year in June and December.

Hi,

Payback is earned through introducing new members on giffgaff (£5 a time)  and being on the community and there are different tiers regarding the amount of activity starting at 10p and up to a maximum of £30 a month.

You can roll over payback just once.

Here are some more details on this link:

Hope this helps.
