Hi

I referred a friend - he got his 5 pound credit. I got 500 points which I understood translated into 5 pound credit (in the previous period up to June 2019) - now the new period has rolled over I am back to 0 points however the 5 pound credit didn’t seem to have worked its way into my top up balance.

Would someone be able to look into this for me please as I understand that the money should have been paid by now.

Many thanks for reading this message and if you take time to respond.

@matwilde1

If the 500 points were earned prior to 31st May, then they would have been inclued in the June payout period.  If this is the case and you have no record of the payment onto your account, you can check your order history here https://giffgaff.com/profile/payment-details#orders

If the payment was not received, then you need to contact an agent about this.  Explain clearly the issue.  Try and give as much detail as possible, such as the sim activation code and member who was brought to giffgaff, you can get this detail from here https://giffgaff.com/spread/recruits

Use this link to contact the agent https://support2.giffgaff.com/app/ask/Payback-and-recruits/My-payback-payout/form/ they can take upto 24 hours to reply

@matwilde1 Hello June is the start of new payback period you can’t convert you 500 points to £5 till the next payback payout date which is December

any payback earned in month is credited to your payback about 5th working day following month, What's Payback?

It's simple. Recommend giffgaff to your friends and family or help your fellow members in our forums and we'll give you Payback points twice a year. Here are a few ways to earn points:

Send SIMs to your friends to earn 500 points for every activated SIM
Share your personalised SIM order page to earn 500 points for every activated SIM ordered from you.
Recommend friends with your member name when they order a SIM to earn 200 points
Help out giffgaff members in our forum. Points are added to your "My Payback" widget on the 5th of every following month.
Our Payback currency is pennies (1 point = 1 penny).

We collect all the points you earn and send monthly email statements. Twice a year (June and December) choose how to use your points:

Cashback via PayPal (only eligible if you've earned more than 1,000 points)
airtime credit for your mobile
Donate it to charity selected by our members
To be eligible for Payback you must have an active giffgaff SIM, used your phone within 3 months before end November 2019

You choose how you want payback here https://giffgaff.com/profile/choose-payback-method

@matwilde1

The previous period ended on 31 May and those points were available to redeem in June.

If you did not select how you wanted to redeem your points before 16th June, you don't get them.  Points from the previous period would roll over to be paid in December.  Points only roll over once, so any unclaimed points earned from an earlier period (before 1 December 2018) have now been cancelled.

If you made a selection, check your account order history for a £5 topup paid by payback https://giffgaff.com/orders/history

I do not work for giffgaff, so cannot check anything on your account. This is a public community - please do not post any personal info.

Unfortunatly not, no. Someone from giffgaff probably needs to look at the account?

100% had 500 points from the previous pay back period, so it is odd...

@matwilde1

If neither the points or credit bonus have materialised it may be the sim activation wasn't credited to your account, the sim has to be one from your registered account, one that's been ordered by you to pass on to others or one that's been ordered by others using your bring another member link.

Is this how they got the sim? If so then your bonuses need to be investigated with an agent.

The previous payback period was Dec-May, not Jan - June.
When did your friend activate his sim. If June it will show in the current period, if July it will show up next month when July's is announced.
If May then it should have appeared for your payback for Dec to May, did you elect to receive it as credit? If so it should show in your order history as credit.

I dont think i elected to receive it as credit- I thought it was credited automatically (as the advert says get 5 pound credit or similar when you refer a friend) - it was towards the start of 2019 that I referred the friend - although I can’t find the sim order in my history.

Thanks for you and everyone’s help - I have contacted an agent
