Hi
After updating to android 8.1.0 my nexus 5x went into a bootloader loop. But now it's unresponsive and won't turn on.
I want to send it away to see if it can be repaired but I have a problem.
On the My Orders section I can see my old Nexus 5 but not my Nexus 5x. I had sent my Nexus 5 away to be repaired (due to not being able to fix this they sent a nexus 5x to replace it)
Do I just continue with the option for Nexus 5 instead of the 5x?
Thanks
How old is the phone?
The Nexus only had a 12-month warranty (it only had a 24-month warranty if purchased directly from Google) beyond that the only people who MAY offer a free repair are LG to whom the phone has to be returned direct.
giffgaff won't/can't fix it as the boot loop issue requires the phone to be fitted with a new mainboard (the issue was really poor QC during manufacture).
You need to return it to LG who, as I said, may acknowledge the issue and offer a free repair. If they do not then with mainboards at over £200 plus fitting the phneis effectively a write-off.
You can contact LG on 0344 847 5454
