My phone was stolen and I wanted to know how to change my new giffgaff number to my old giffgaff number. I need a pac code but when I call 43431 it says sorry I'm leaving the network. How do I resolve this I just want my old number back!!!
You can disable and even wipe the phone if you have a Google account or Apple account,
If you can nip out you can buy a Blank GiffGaff sim-pac and do a Sim-Swap.This will be faster and better than reporting the phone stolen unless you need to for insurance purposes but may also be able to do this even after using Google/Apple sites.
I'm too impatient to wait for a free Sim so..
buy one for less than a pound at B&M/Poundshop/Tesco/Argos/Iceland and even my Corner shop sells them now and do a,"Sim Swap".Do NOT activate the New Sim e.g put any money on it is as a Blank unused Sim is needed for a Sim swap and the Sim-Swap process will activate the new Sim.
A lot of these shops are open Sundays until 4pm and 8pm weekdays.
and here's an easy to follow video,
you can only do a SIM swap between 4.30am and 9.30pm and it can be like when you first join GiffGaff e.g shut the phone down for a few mins and or keep restarting the phone over a few hours after the Sim Swap.
This will transfer your number and allowances across.
You cannot transfer your old number to another SIM that has its own number already.
You have a couple of options to get your old number back:
Sorry to hear about your phone.
A PAC code is only required when transferring your number to another, external telephone provider. You do not required a PAC code to transfer withing giffgaff.
To block your sim, please go here: https://giffgaff.com/support/lost
Once you've blocked it by reporting it lost or stolen, giffgaff will automatically send you out a replacement sim in the post which will have your original number and any credit will also be transferred to your new sim when you receive it.
The replacement sim will look like this:
I hope this helps!
All you mainly have to do for this situation is perform SIM card swap to merge/migrate all your account details including your number to a new SIM card (or report the old SIM card lost/stolen and then perform a SIM card swap), then you will be good to go again. I'm also very sorry to hear your phone/SIM card has been stolen from you. That's not very nice to hear.
Hopefully you get this sorted. Good luck!
