I have received an e mail stating that my number will be relocated if i don't use the phone by 28th December. I have not used it since 29th July 2017 as I live in Australia and come to England once a year. I am in england in 2018 from 19th June. I would prefer to keep my phone number if possible. My wife has a similar e mail and i also have a third number which i use for data for my wifi device which is likely to expire before 28th December  (don't know the date) Is there anything I can do rather than buy topups now (which i wont use ) to keep the situation for when i visit next year?

Just send a text to your wife and your sim will remain active and ask your wife to send a text to your number Smiley Wink

Make a call
Send a text
Top-up

Do one of those, pretty sharpish.
That will give you another 6 months usage.

@burgum

giffgaff requires you to use the SIM at least once every 6 months in order to keep the account active

Just do any one of the following will keep your SIM active

• Make a least one call, SMS or MMS to another number
(emergency calls 999 or 112
and texts/calls to giffgaff services 2020, 43430, 43431,4444
do not apply)

• Make at least one connection to the internet

• Receive at least 4 calls of more than 10 seconds

• Make a least one topup/purchase of credit or goodybag with a voucher or debit card ( or PayPal )

• Receive Payback points (for recruiting new members or participating in the community)
