Are Giff Gaff customers getting a refund for the loss of signal and data this week, I have seen that 02 have issued their customers refunds?

Yes, there's a goodwill fund set aside, emails are being sent out and you need to register see https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Announcements/December-6th-s-outage-what-we-re-doing-to-say-sorry/...

Giff Gaff are offering a goodwill gesture. Users will receive an email over next few days with a link to claim credit or donate to charity.

As with the O2 gesture, it will be a minimum amount.

But they are not legally obligated to offer anything to us so anything that is offered is a bonus.

Giffgaff are not obliged to offer any other compensation as you are not in a contract with them.
For info. The network outage was in Europe too & 32 million people involved.
