hello fellow Giff Gaff Members, I am really annoyed and frustrated as Wednesday evening I received text message on my phone telling me that an on line Company known as REMOTE GAMES LTD had kindly taken £4.50 from my Giff Gaff credit to allow me access to their funny videos site each week. Text STOP to 83463 to unsubscribe which I did straight away knowing that I had never in the first place elected to subscribe. End of story so I hoped except that at 1328 hours today i received yet another text from the same SCAMMERS because that is what they are plain and simple SCAMMERS telling me that once again they have taken another £4.50 and low and behold at 1408 today again same COMPANY same charge of £4.50 straight from my Giff Gaff credit. I have managed to speak to one of their people who hide at the end of a phone line telling them that no way was anything clicked on and indeed if the subscription lasts for 1 week for £4.50 how come I have paid 3 x £4.50 in 48 hours . A con or what. I am also disappointed that Giff Gaff allow this activity through their Customers accounts the removal of money without authority to a bunch of SCAMMERS. Quite simply texting STOP has failed to achieve the desired effect so What can I do. Firstly I don't think i'll be topping up Credit with Giff Gaff anymore I'll also reduce my Goody bag and have already put a stop on auto renewal. Any ideas how I can stop this happen ing again and get my money back. Beware REMOTE GAMES LTD are a bunch of sharks.

My wife had identical messages sent to her phone from Remote Games Ltd. Nothing in her phone's history to indicate how this could have happened and she is 100% certain that she never signed up for any service like this. Not sure yet how much money has been taken. Phoned the 03300535843 and was told to email helpmanager<at> careformobile.com to ask for a refund. They didn't even try to tell me that my wife must have signed up by accident, but blamed 'technical difficulties'. I'd like to know how they got her number! Tried to explain that as it was their problem, it was reasonable to expect them to solve it! I propose to formulate a complaint to the Phone-paid Services Authority about this company, as they would appear to 'have form' in regard to these scams. It would help shut down these rip-off outfits if more of the victims complained to the regulator. I know the amounts involved are small, and I have every confidence that we will get a refund, but these companies need to be closed down. So please help by complaining!

@ernies_nan
Please make sure you complain to the regulator (psauthority.org.uk) about this company, even if you succeed in getting a refund from them. If they get enough complaints they will investigate.
Anyone with any doubts as to whether this company should be reported to the regulator might be interested to know that they were fined £70,000 with £15,000 costs back in February 2015 for similar offenses.

Maybe if enough people complain this time we can shut them down permanently.
If you have any problems with obtaining a refund or making your complaint feel free to contact me for help.

@ernies_nan

Much as I sympathise with your problem, I do not think that you can expect giffgaff to do anything.

How would they decide which numbers to bar? Who is the arbiter of good taste?

I do wonder if these people somehow get you to click on a box in an unrelated website and that is how it happens.
