Hi Guys

Despite gettung PAC code I am still getting this message. Have switched on and off numerous times since my old voda sim went offline (about 6 hours ago). Theres a lengthy message on the phone but its suggesting it still remains locked to Voda

Is this normal and do I just have to wait it out?

@toddspur sim not supported means it's a locked phone eg still locked to Vodafone you'll need to inquire with them or take to local phone repair shops to unlock @

Hi @toddspur

Are you sure your phone is unlocked? As it sounds like your device is locked to Vodafone network. A giffgaff SIM will only be accepted in mobile device that is either unlocked or locked to the o2 network.

Your best and easy method to get the phone unlocked you will need to contact the Vodafone network see here

If you are sure your phone is unlocked and is a iPhone try syncing it with iTunes. please sync it with iTunes to complete the unlock. When syncing your iPhone with iTunes ensure the giffgaff SIM is in the phone. Follow this official guide from Apple on syncing your iPhone with iTunes.

Waiting it out will do nothing, that message means that you phone is still locked (presumably to Vodafone).

Even an unactivated giffgaff SIM will display signal bars/dots and will not request a 'network PIN', 'SIM unlock code' or display a 'SIM not supported' message on an unlocked phone.

Do you get any signal bars?   No signal bars is a pretty clear sign that the device is still locked to a network other than O2 / giffgaff.

Have you tried / can you please try the SIM in another (definitely unlocked) device? If it works then your device is still locked and you need to either contact Vodafone or a good mobile unlocking service.
