I was already with giffgaff but activated new card due to the other being damaged how can I do number swap because I've already activated the new card. I is important I keep original number

Please order a new SIM from:

All newgiffgaff SIMs are 'trio' SIMs (Mini/Micro/Nano in one just push out the bit that you need to fit your phone) and are 4G/3G/2G compatable.
When it arrives, you will need to perform a simple SIMswap.

SIMswap does not work between 21:30 and 04:30 each day.

Your current number and any goodybag / credit will transfer as part of the process.

Don't forget to back up any contacts on your SIM as these do not transfer as part of the process.

It sounds like you activated a new SIM - You didn't need to activate a new SIM. What you really should have done is perform a SIM Swap. What you will need to do is order another SIM card from your spread page here

And when the SIM arrives you will need to perform a SIM swap by login into the account on the number you wish to have transferred over to the new SIM. Once logged in simply follow this guide on how to perform the SIM swap or you can follow this YouTube video.

When you perform, the SIM Swap the process will transfer your current number and any active allowances such as your goodybag and/or airtime credit over to the new SIM.

The process should take no more than 30 minutes to complete, however during busy periods can take up to 24 hours. The SIM Swap can be performed anytime between 4.30am and 9.30pm

In regards to the new SIM you activated you have up to 14 days starting from the activation date to cancel the SIM and claim a full refund. Simply follow this link for instructions on how to cancel a SIM.

if you have activated a new card this means you have a new account.... as you can only have one sim per account..... so, you need to log back into your original account and do a sim swap..... 

This great guide will help you out . . . . .  doing a sim swap will swap your original number that you want too keep, but you will have to use a new sim that hasnt been activated.... you can order one here........ Order a free SIM

 A sim swap usually takes  a few minutes to complete . . . . remember restart phone after the stated time . . if you need any other help please come back an let us Know here .

You can't use that card because it already has a number allocate. What you need to do is supply a new card, go to sim/sim swap on your dashboard, and enter its ID in the box. On the next page reject your old sim and your number and account will be transferred to the new sim. I suggest you burn off the credit on the sim you have started as you can't transfer it that way

Sorry, you cannot transfer number from 1 to another account. However, to have same number back all you need to perform a SIM swap: with an inactive SIM card by logging onto your old account.


Please note that you can perform SIM swap only if not reported lost & stolen to giffgaff.
